What's Included & How to Adopt

West Haven Australian Labradoodle companion puppies are $3,500 and come fully prepared for their transition home. Learn what's included, our deposit and payment terms, and exactly how the adoption process works from application to pickup.

What to Expect:
Pricing, Inclusions, and the Adoption Process

We believe in being straightforward about cost, clear about what you get, and transparent about how the whole process works from your first application to the moment you bring your puppy home.

If you have questions at any point, reach out. We are happy to talk through anything before you apply.

Adoption Fee:
$3,500

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on the list. Deposits are accepted only after your application has been reviewed and approved. Spots are filled in the order deposits are received, so if you are serious about a puppy, submitting your application promptly matters.

Please note: We reserve the first two spots on each litter list for the breeder.

Payment at pickup

Full payment is due at pickup or 48 hours prior to your puppy's flight if you are using air transportation. We accept cash, cashier's check, or Venmo.

Older puppies and training add-ons

We occasionally have puppies available past 8 weeks who have received additional training. Pricing for those puppies varies. Contact us directly to learn more.

Transportation

Applicable transportation costs are added to the adoption fee if your puppy is being shipped rather than picked up in person. We will walk you through those logistics when the time comes.

What Every West Haven Australian Labradoodle Puppy Comes With

The $3,500 adoption fee is not just for a puppy. It is for a puppy that has been thoughtfully raised, thoroughly prepared, and fully set up to make your transition as smooth as possible. Here is exactly what that includes:

Health and Medical

  • Wellness exam completed by a certified veterinarian

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming records

  • Registered microchip, with lifetime registration already paid (register at buddyid.com)

  • Trupanion pet insurance pre-enrollment — must be activated within 24 hours of pickup to qualify for no waiting periods

Documentation

  • Copy of our two-year health guarantee contract

  • Two-week go-home schedule covering wake time, meals, potty intervals, crate time, play sessions, and bedtime

Go-Home Comforts

  • A blanket for your puppy

  • Cheese bone or puppy toy

  • Snuggle Puppy carrying the scent of their mother and littermates to ease the first nights away from the litter

Lifetime Support

We are available to you well beyond pickup day. Whether you have a question in week two or a concern two years in, you can reach us. This is a relationship, not a transaction.

The raising itself

Everything above is what goes home in the bag. What is harder to put on a list is the eight weeks of ENS exercises, Puppy Culture protocols, socialization, desensitization, potty training introduction, and crate acclimation that went into your puppy before you ever met them. That work is built into the price and built into the dog.

The Adoption Process, Step by Step

It’s simple, but each step is important so please make sure to read carefully.

Step 1. Submit Your Application

Fill out our adoption application. We ask about your lifestyle, living situation, experience with dogs, and what you are hoping for in a companion. This helps us understand whether we are a good match and, later, which puppy in the litter is right for your family specifically.

Step 2. Application Review

We review every application carefully and do our best to respond within 48 hours. We are looking for families who are thoughtful, prepared, and genuinely excited — not just checking boxes.

Step 3. Deposit and Waitlist

Once your application is approved, you secure your spot by submitting a $500 deposit. Spots are held in the order deposits are received. If a litter is already matched, your deposit holds your place for the next available litter.

Step 4. Litter Matching and Updates

Once a litter is born, we match deposited families to that litter based on timing and fit. From birth through go-home week, you will receive regular photos and updates as your puppy grows. Watching them go from newborns to little personalities is one of the best parts of the process.

Step 5. Puppy Selection at 7 Weeks (via FaceTime)

At 7 weeks, families with deposits select their puppy via FaceTime. Selections happen in the order deposits were received. We do not offer in-person visits prior to pickup. During your FaceTime appointment, we will walk you through each available puppy, share our temperament observations, and help guide you toward the right match for your family.

Step 6. Pickup at 8 Weeks

Your puppy goes home at 8 weeks old. Full payment is due at pickup (cash, cashier's check, or Venmo) or 48 hours prior to your puppy's flight if you are using air transport. Your puppy will be ready with everything listed in the inclusions section above.

Step 7. First Vet Visit

We recommend scheduling a wellness exam with your local veterinarian within the first few days of bringing your puppy home. You will have the health records and wellness exam report from us, and your vet will appreciate having them. Activate your Trupanion enrollment within 24 hours of pickup if you want to take advantage of the no-waiting-period benefit.

Step 8. Start Training

The two-week go-home schedule we send with every puppy gives you a solid structure for those first critical weeks. After that, we strongly recommend beginning formal training as early as possible. The habits your puppy builds in the first year are the habits your adult dog carries. We have trainer recommendations we trust on our Resources page, including a discount code for Baxter and Bella that we share with every West Haven family.
